Walking on Water
by Richard Paul Evans

View in Library Catalog

Wow! Just WOW! The fifth and final book in this series. I laughed, I cried. I thought a lot about my life and life in general.

The White Woman and Her Valley
by Arch Merrill

This author has moved into my top 10 favorites! He is such a good writer! So much history!

The Irresistible Henry House
by Lisa Grunwald

View in Library Catalog

This book was interesting because it explored “practice babies.” Practice babies were orphans raised in college home economics programs, usually for a year or two before being adopted. To make this fit a novel, some liberties were taken. I would have preferred a more realistic angle to the subject. It dragged a bit toward the end, but the ending did help define the theme. I also don’t think Henry House was “irresistible” as a character.

The Walk

The first of five. He loses everything - his wife, his business, his home. He decides to walk. Excellent writing!!

The Hanging Valley
by Peter Robinson

26 books in this series. They are good stories but slow. Too wordy. Probably not a series I will take the time to finish.

Behind The Scenes Or Thirty Years A Slave
by Elizabeth Keckley

This was an interesting read, especially when reading other books that reference Mary Todd Lincoln. The narrative of Elizabeth Keckley who was born into slavery but became Mrs. Lincoln’s dressmaker is unbelievable.

Blind Side
by Catherine Coulter

I had forgotten that she had something “weird” in each book ??

Mrs. Lincoln's Sisters Jennifer Chiaverini

This is an interesting piece of historical fiction. I was engaged through the whole book.
